Fast Five Friday!

All week, I was waiting to get to today's post and forgot to schedule it. I can't with myself sometimes.

It's finally time for Fast Five Friday again! Each Friday, the Cover Girls, Dani and Jax, ask us fun questions that anyone who wants to participate can answer in list form. Visit their page which will also take you to their individual pages to see what their fast fives have been. I have a month's worth of questions to look through, so let's see what we have.

Jan 6: 5 things you didn’t get done in 2016 but plan on doing in 2017?

Lose weight
Find a job I'm happy with
Snag an agent
Buy a guitar
Go out more

Jan 13: If you could only have 5 foods for the rest of your life, what would they be?

Thin crust pizza
Tacos
Sweet potatoes
Sushi
Eggs

I find it hilarious that one of our Jan. 6th answers was lose weight/get in shape, and then the Jan. 13th question is about food. hahaha

I hope everyone has a good weekend! I've got a lot to do, but I also plan on getting my Final Fantasy XV Chocobo Carnival on. lol

Final Fantasy & Fast Five Friday! Movie Edition

TGIF!

I'm so ready for this weekend. I have a bit of a busy one again, but God is still good. I'm still loving my new blogging schedule because I'm so ready to get to another day where I can post, especially a Friday post! And today, I get to return to Final Fantasy Friday!

Last night, my cousin brought over his laptop, and I was finally able to watch Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV. This is a prequel to the highly awaited game which should be coming out next month. The trailer is below.

(SPOILER ALERT: Sean Bean is the English voice actor for King Lucis. If you understand Sean Bean characters, you'll know why this is a spoiler alert.)

In this movie, we follow Nyx, a highly respected soldier in the King's army as betrayal and sabotage destroy the kingdom. Half of the time, I was just in awe of how real some of the people looked! At one point, I almost said, "That monster looks so fake," but then remembered I was watching a fully animated movie! It's so beautifully done, and Square thinks they're slick, but I totally saw a nod to some of the older games, a few being:

Ardyn Izunia's one super-long sleeve resembling Sephiroth's one wing
Niflheim's demon looking like a very specific FFVII Weapon
ULTROS!
YOJIMBO!

It looks like I'm just speaking gibberish at this point, but I'm not. lol Anyway, I can't wait for this game to come out! I hope it's amazing! All this prep work for it, it just needs to be.

And now: a couple of this month's Fast Five questions from the Cover Girls, Dani and Jackie! Join in if you like. This is a particularly good one, for Halloween!

Oct. 7th - 5 horror movies you love to watch this time of year
Scream
The Shining
Carrie
The Haunting
Poltergeist

Oct 21st - Name 5 sci-fi/horror books/movies that scared the crap out of you

Dead Silence
Orphan
Final Destination
Scream 2
Insidious

I used to read a whole bunch of Christopher Pike when I was a teenager, but I don't think any ever scared me, and the Stephen King's books I've read so far horrified me more than scared me, lol.

What about you guys?

Fast Five Friday: To Be Read

Happy Friday!

This was one of those weeks that didn't seem to want to end. But it's almost over, and after next week, I get to use my first PTO hours! And have a three day work week! It's the little things, people.

Anyway, on most Fridays I try to participate in Dani and Jackie's Fast Five Friday, a quick 5-answer list based on a question they provide. This one is easy, because I just have to look at my Goodreads (I could also look in my moon chair and on my bed, but I'll use Goodreads).

5 books on your TBR list to read before we hit 2017

Whereaftter by Terri Bruce
The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin
Parable of the Talents by Octavia Butler
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
A Girl if A Half-formed Thing by Eimear McBride

Pick up the pace, Deb!

What about you guys?

The Cover GirlsDani and Jax, created Fast Five Fridays for us to list our 5 favorites of the week's topic if we like.Today, I'm actually jumping back to July, because I've been slacking on reading blogs and missed a couple questions I could have answered. So let's do the time warp!

A back-flip
Drive like they do in Tokyo Drift
A front stroke
Sew better
Writer faster

In other news: Dover Comic Con starts tonight, and I can't wait! I wanted to dress up as Zoe from Firefly/Serenity, but I didn't have time to get that all together. Really, I just need a wine-colored button-down shirt, gun holster, fake gun, and a wig, but...Ah well. lol Maybe next year.

Fast Five & Express Yourself Friday

It is Friday, and it is LATE Friday. I'm supposed to remind myself at night to do these, but ah well. These two Q&As are done by the Cover Girls, Dani and Jax. They work tirelessly to bring us questions to answer. Join in if you like!

For this week's Fast Five Friday, the ladies want to know: 5 Things you wish you knew then that you know now.

1. You weren't fat in high school.
2. You're going to gain more weight than you did in high school.
3. Getting published isn't as easy as writing The End and putting your work in a manila envelope. There are levels.
4. Don't forbear your loans back to back. You'll run out of chances.
5. You need to get out more.

For Express Yourself, the ladies want to know: If you could try one occupation for a day, other than your current job, what would you choose?

I used to want to be a firefighter (childhood), so maybe that...But I'd also like to be an actor for a day.

Fast Five Friday x2

I haven't done a Fast Five in a while, and I realized I missed one last week! These are brought to us by Dani and Jackie, the Cover Girls! They ask us a question in 5-form, and we get to answer them in list-form. :) Here we go.

July 1 – 5 favorite things you like to wear

5 movies you always watch when on

2-for-Friday: Fast Five: Cover Worlds and Final Fantasy: Nobuo Uematsu

Happy Friday, and hello new followers!

Fridays are the days I set aside for weekly blog hops from the Cover Girls as well as for my love of Final Fantasy!

This week, Dani and Jax would like to know what 5 covers make us want to live in the world of that book. Yeesh, let me look through the books I've read. Many have been really dark, but I don't remember all of the covers.

These are in no particular order:

Okay, let me explain the last one. I still harbor dreams of becoming a WWE wrestler. There.

What book covers made you want to live there?

One of the most memorable things about Final Fantasy is the music. Most of it was composed by Nobuo Uematsu, who is so genius. Below is an hour's worth of what a Youtuber deemed are the 15 greatest themes from Uematsu sensei. I, myself, and about to listen and enjoy.

Fast Five Friday: Helping Others

Happy 1st Friday of the last month of the year! Whaat?!

The Cover Girls, Dani and Jax, have created this weekly list that's quick fire, fun, and interactive for their readers. The topic today is: 5 Ways to Help Those In Need.

The good thing about this (as someone with not a lot of money) is that there ARE more than one way to lend a helping hand, especially during the holidays!

1. Volunteer at a Nursing Home
2. Give old (but gently used) clothes to Goodwill or the Salvation Army
3. Get a sandwich for a homeless person outside a fast food place (even for the less wealthy, there's almost always a dollar menu!)
4. Sit and talk with a stranger who looks down and/or out
5. Turn in canned goods you buy and never use.

What are 5 things you can think of?

Fast Five Friday/Express Yourself Weekly

HAPPY FRIDAY! I've set aside Fridays for many a thing. Today, I bring you Fast Five Friday and Express Yourself Weekly. Both were created by the Cover Girls, Dani @ Entertaining Interests and Jackie @ Bouquet of Books. You can visit their blogs and join them for the fun any time!

This week's Fast Five is set aside for telling 5 things for which we are thankful.

1. God
2. Family
3. Football

(lol just kidding. Best Man Holiday reference. My real answers:)

1. God
2. Family
3. Music
4. Moments of inner peace
5. Creativity

This week, they also asked us to share a picture of something we treasure.

The heartbeat of Americaaaaa...
Every now and then, my niece gives me little trinkets that I hold onto. One year (I can't even remember which one) she gave me a U.S.A. key-chain that I still use, and she also gave me this little plastic heart that I keep on my desk at work.

What are you thankful for this week? Anything special that you treasure?
